Mechanical Trade Assistants – Learn to MIG Weld! $32.25 / hr + Penalties!

Job Connect has a great opportunity for Mechanical Trade Assistants who wish to learn MIG Welding for an established manufacturer of transport equipment in the Wacol area for 4 – 8 weeks’ minimum, with a good chance of ongoing Casual to Permanent.   

A person with a positive ‘Can do’ attitude will be trained to tackle all aspects of the role.  Hand and power tools experience is all that is required to be able to learn the finer aspects of Welding and Fabrication.

The role will have a varied workload, use various hand and power tools to do maintenance/ repairs and fabricate with steel.  The role will also require cleaning with a water blaster, sanding and painting, renovating and building new tanks and portable storage solutions.

 

The role will require:

• Use of Drill, Grinder, Circular Saw, Drop Saw, Pressure Washer and hand tools    
• Any prior experience in a Mechanical Trade Assistant role or Labouring with any tool usage
• Reliable transport to attend work
• Unlimited working rights and ability to accept permanent employment
• Brisbane located

 

The role offers:

• $32.25/hr + Penalties
• Full training on MIG Welding over time as part of the role!
• Stable Day Shifts 6am – 2pm Mon – Fri
• Ongoing Casual to Permanent
